The Story

The Villa Marin, now run by the grandchildren Annamaria and Giorgio Marin, is still the pension that was build over half a century ago, that right now is walking in the footprints of Nonna-Granny- Olga, the person that up to this day has shaped the Villa Marin more than anyone else. In 2017, to expand and improve our offer, we built the new Terrace, with the annexed Restaurant & Bar Alla Diga, which open to outside guests during the whole year. The cuisine still has its fundaments in the typical gradesian dishes and in the dishes that NonnaOlga used to make: sometimes we add a modern twist to the tradition, but we certainly always combine the best products of what our Region Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Island of Grado has to offer. In order to unify geographically and not only symbolically to the rich and various friulian region, the Villa Marin joined the recently founded association of bike- & nature-lovers aMareInBici, whose aim is to unite the passion for bikes with the passion for excellent food based on the high principles of sustainability and the respect for the environment and our cultural roots. Sustainability has become  very important and it will be more and more for the future. Solar panels already sustain to produce some of the needed electricity and the waste of plastic should be reduced to a minimized. In our Restaurant  we respect regionality as well as the saisons for the selection of our products and plates so that you can experience all these beautiful influences of our regional diversity on our beautiful terrace and can enjoy the unforgettable view on the adriatic see.
